CytoTracer® Violet BMQC is a cell-permeant fluorescent cytoplasmic stain for long-term labeling and tracking of live cells. After diffusing across the plasma membrane, the probe is converted by intracellular glutathione S-transferases into a membrane-impermeant fluorescent conjugate that is efficiently retained within viable cells for extended periods. The dye is inherited by daughter cells during cell division, making it suitable for cell proliferation and migration studies.
CytoTracer® Violet BMQC is compatible with fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and high-content imaging. The dye is optimized for excitation by a violet laser (405 nm), making it an excellent alternative to CFSE for systems equipped with such a laser. It can be combined with green-, orange-, red-, and near-infrared fluorophores in multicolor experiments due to its well-separated spectral profile.
