Expanded portfolio of nuclear dyes for cell biology applications

We have expanded our portfolio of fluorescent probes and launched production of the most widely used nuclear dyes for cell biology. These dyes enable discrimination between live and apoptotic cells based on changes in chromatin structure and membrane permeability, provide high-contrast nuclear staining in live cells at low concentrations, and allow clear visualization of nuclear morphology in fixed specimens.

Our dyes deliver bright fluorescence, high photostability, and are compatible with fluorescence, confocal microscopy, and flow cytometry. Selected products are available as ready-to-use solutions.

EthD-1

EthD-1 (Ethidium homodimer 1)

Red fluorescent nucleic acid stain.

A high-affinity intercalating nucleic acid dye that is impermeant to live cells and is widely used as a dead-cell indicator in the viability and cytotoxicity assays.

7-AAD

7-AAD (7-Aminoactinomycin D)

Far-red fluorescent nucleic acid stain.

A nuclear dye with a strong affinity for GC-rich regions of DNA. 7-AAD does not pass through intact cell membranes and is commonly used to detect apoptotic and dead cells.

LUCS® 5

LUCS® 5

Far-red fluorescent nucleic acid stain.

A cell-permeant dye that intercalates between A-T bases of dsDNA with negligible binding to RNA and mtDNA. It is used for live and fixed cell imaging and analysis.

LUCS® 9

LUCS® 9

Green fluorescent nucleic acid stain.

A cell-permeant dye used for staining both DNA and RNA in live and dead eukaryotic cells as well as Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Hoechst S769121

Hoechst S769121 (Nuclear Yellow)

Yellow fluorescent nucleic acid stain.

A cell-permeant dye that binds to AT-rich regions in dsDNA. This dye can be photoconverted with diaminobenzidine (DAB) into an electron-dense product and used for light and electron microscopy.

LDS 751

LDS 751

Far-red fluorescent nucleic acid stain.

A cell-permeant dye used for nuclei detection in live and fixed cells, exhibiting a 20-fold fluorescence enhancement upon binding to dsDNA. It also labels mitochondria in live cells.

Hoechst 33342 Ready Stain

Hoechst 33342 Ready Stain for Flow Cytometry

A cell-permeant dye that binds strongly to AT-rich regions in the minor groove of dsDNA and is extensively used for staining chromosomes and nuclei in live cells.

LUTOX® Green Ready Stain

LUTOX® Green Ready Stain for Flow Cytometry

A live-cell impermeant nuclear stain that exhibits more than 500-fold fluorescence enhancement upon binding DNA and is used as an indicator of dead cells.
